Petr Kůrka (1949) graduated in mathematics in 1972. Till 1990 he was at the Center of Biomathematics and developed mathematical models in biology. Later he worked at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics where he gave courses in logic, information theory and dynamical systems. He has written a monograph and over 40 research articles on complexity of dynamical systems, symbolic dynamics, cellular automata and number systems.
