Mgr. Michal Synek

Michal Synek is a sociologist. In the framework of his doctoral research project at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University, he studies relations between various repertoires of caring and modes of ordering dis/ability. At the Centre for Theoretical Studies, he explores tensions between care for things and care for people in residential social services. He is a member of the Centre of Expertise in Longevity and Long-term Care of the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University and an advisor to self-advocates. He is interested in theoretical problems with practical impact at the crossroads of science and technology studies, disability studies and care studies.
