Jan Smyčka

Jan Smyčka
Jan Smyčka studied botany at the Faculty of Science of Charles University and evolutionary biology at Université Grenoble Alpes. He wrote his doctoral thesis on the evolutionary histories of European alpine flora, with particular focus on speciation and survival of species during the glacial periods.

He is currently interested in predictability of species emergence and extinction in time, across geographic and taxonomic systems. His favorite study system are still mountains and their biota.
