The well-known Prague sculpture by David Černý, which has been hanging on a pole mounted in the kitchen of CTS for many years, has given the company.

It builds on previous South African expeditions to research biodiversity along a long productivity gradient. This year we visited South Africa for the first time during a dry season. (During the analysis of yet existing data, it turned out that without knowledge of the dry half of the year, the laws of biodiversity cannot be fully understood.)

The lecture 'Man versus Nature' was held in the baroque refectory of the Dominican St. Giles monastery in Prague. Outcomes were presented from the Czech-Norwegian project HACIER, showing the impact of agriculture on ecosystems versus the impact of natural changes in the environment. Participation on the international conference „Paleolimnology of Northern Eurasia“, field investigations of thermokarst phenomena and vegetation, sampling lake sediments for the purpose of pollen analyses. Main goal was to study, for the purpose of the projects „Prior to the Neolithic“ and „HACIER“, recent analogies for periglacial environments of the Pleistocene period in Europe.
