Intuition of space is one of the most evident mode of consciousness. As a multisensorial format for external objects, it is also the most basic type of intentionality. The phenomenology of space constitution was deeply investigated by Husserl. We will show that his phenomenological eidetic descriptions are widely confirmed by contemporary results in visual neurosciences, and that the neurogeometry of the functional architecture of visual areas explains how brain can do geometry.
