About CTS
CTS is a joint institution of Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences..
We cultivate not only theoretical but also empirical, and sometimes even practically oriented, applied or action-oriented research. Our overarching research theme is the phenomenon of the Anthropocene. We work on projectsthat involve approaches from various scientific disciplines. We gather at regular working seminars where we address specific topics. We provide an environment for visiting scholars from all around the world. We organize regular seminars open to the professional public. Our activities traditionally involve a number of doctoral students, and we offer two-year postdoctoralstays annually. The Jan Patočka Archive is also a part of CTS.
