Scaling laws from embryos to ecosystems: towards a dynamic hierarchical theory
Lecturers:
Ian Hatton
Recent work has uncovered remarkable similarities in scaling laws, spanning the tree of life, and recurring over distinct levels of organization. We do not yet fully understand these patterns, but the search for theory is becoming ever more focused. This talk will summarize these scaling laws and discuss a perspective that attempts to integrate dynamics across life’s hierarchy.
