Mgr. Jan Frei, Ph.D. et Ph.D.

Jan Frei (1971) focuses on Jan Patočka's philosophy, especially on its existential stratum. He studied musicology in Prague and Basle, Switzerland (Ph.D. in 2003); Ph.D. in philosophy (2014). Research fellow in the Czech Museum of Music (1999-2004) and at the Institute of Musicology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (2000-2003).

Research fellow at the Jan Patočka Archive (since 2003), head of the Archive (since 2020). Co-editor of the Collected Works of Jan Patočka. Articles and papers on philosophy, mostly on the thought of Jan Patočka. Translations (from German and English) of texts on philosophy and its border problems – K. Jaspers, E. Voegelin, J. Pieper, J. von Uexküll, K. Rahner, R. Guardini, E. Underhill and others.
