Palaeoecological reconstruction of ecosystems as a basis for conservation planning of protected areas
To uncover the composition of ecosystems before anthropogenic intensification in model protected
areas (PLA, NP). The knowledge of long-term dynamics is an important basis for prioritization in
the management plans and formulation of restoration targets in the context of local effects of global
change and ongoing exploitation.
To provide transfer to practice of the results of these researches (obtained by the project and
existing in poorly accessible databases and foreign scientific publications). Provide the
methodology of identification of "natural archives" containing paleoecological record.
This will be achieved by outputs in an accessible form in practice: methodology (1x), books (2x),
regional articles (5x), maps (min. 3x) and seminars in the regions (PLA and NP administration).
