Mgr. Karel Svačina, M.A.

Karel Svačina studied sociology and computer science at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, and studies on society, science and technology at the University of East London and at Maastricht University. At the Center for Theoretical Study he is involved in the InSOTEC research project, which studies the planning of geological disposal for high-level radioactive waste from a socio-technical perspective. Karel is also a PhD student at the Department of Sociology of Masaryk University in Brno. His doctoral research is concerned with the ways in which uncertainties are handled in socio-technical controversies. Karel is a long-distance runner and plays the violin.
