•Patočka’s account of the crisis of modern European man: crisis as the loss of the life-world in favour of the world of the mathematized natural science, and as a subsequent „self-abdication“ – the willingnes to conceive oneself as an object in the scientific world rather than as a free and responsible subject;
•• the current crisis – social, political, economic, environmental, existential etc. – from the point of view of phenomenology in a broad sense, without reference to Patočka.
