Scientific Literacy for a Resilient Society in the 21st Century
The aim of the project is to implement into high school education in natural sciences insights, primarily from academic philosophical and social science reflections on science (philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and history of science). From these fields, emphasis on describing and interpreting the real course of scientific activity will be used to develop a specific concept of scientific literacy, which will naturally connect to the issue of active civic participation as a prerequisite for societal resilience. Research and applied collaboration with partner high schools will enable the proposal of specific educational innovations (for educational fields of physics, chemistry, and biology) and their trial implementation. The project will result in concrete proposals for adjustments to the Framework Educational Programs for General Education and Secondary Education (for the educational area of Man and Nature).
