There are no beautiful ratios: the perception of transcendence between eros nd logos

The study scrutinizes delimitations of beauty in Plato’s dialogues Symp., Ion, Tim. and Hipp. Maj., drawing on phenomenol. philosophy of perception (by Patočka, Levinas, Merleau-Ponty and Barbaras). Using differences such as the Same–the Other or chronos–kairos, it focuses on the transcendence of beauty in math. entities and on the analyticity–syntheticity of maths. The goal of the study is to show that the beauty cannot be totalized since it transcends its mythical-poetical dimension (eros) as well as math.-log. dimension (logos). The non-negligible conditions of beauty (and mathematics) are embedded in life, freedom, blurring the boundaries and disintegration of constrained ratios.
