(2026): Acta Anthropocenica II

Publikace představuje vybrané projekty absolventů mikrocertifikátového programu Anthropocene: The Contemporary World in a Transdisciplinary Perspective, který v roce 2025 pořádalo Centrum pro teoretická studia. Čtyři antropocenní fenomény – banán, mušle, opalovací krém a důlní destrukce – ukazují různé souvislosti a propojení charakteristické pro antropocén.

30. 10. 2026 - Acta Anthropocenica II is out!

The publication presents selected projects by graduates of the Anthropocene: The Contemporary World in a Transdisciplinary Perspective microcredential programme, organised by the Centre for Theoretical Study in 2025. Four Anthropocene phenomena – banana, seashells, sunscreen, and destruction linked to surface mines – reveal diverse entanglements characteristic of the Anthropocene.

Center for Theoretical Study

The Center for Theoretical Study (CTS) is an academic institution focused on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research. It brings together researchers from various fields of natural and social sciences, including philosophers. We strive to break down the boundaries of disciplines and confront partial disciplinary perspectives. From general theoretical research of complex systems, we have shifted in recent years towards the study of the Anthropocene and the transformations of the contemporary world.

The Center for Theoretical Study is accredited to deliver the microcredential learning program Anthropocene.

Research at CTS is currently focused on six areas:
